I'm not sure that it's quite as easy as all that, but I'm guessing that if you search for "php bulletin board," you're likely to come up with something pre-written that you can then add to your site with minimal difficulty.

Yes, that is true. A free bulletin board is phpBB, phpBB is a high powered, fully scalable, and highly customizable Open Source bulletin board package. phpBB has a user-friendly interface, simple and straightforward administration panel, and helpful FAQ. Based on the powerful PHP server language and your choice of MySQL, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL or Access/ODBC database servers, phpBB is the ideal free community solution for all web sites.

Well you can say it is easy for someone who is expert at it but you need many configuration to do so .
So try it and then confirm your values for all configurations like Database path and many more to continue

Thanks. I saw phpBB at my CPANEL and I almost installed it. I just used the forum from XOOPS instead

I want to have my own forum. Is phpBB easy to use eventhough I don't know PHP? Or do I have to learn it first? Are ads easy to integrate here?

Well, you need to know html mostly to be able to place ads into templates with phpBB. Most template only editing you do for phpBB you only need to know html for.

Ok, cool. I know HTML pretty well.

You're using vBulletin right? Which is easier to use for not so gifted people..like me. Hehe. :-)

I have never used vbulletin as an admin before. I have only use IPB, PHPBB, and SMF as an admin.

So...which do you recommend? My brother said that phpBB is better than IPB. I saw SMF on my cPANEL too but I rarely hear/see people talking about that discussion board.

vBulletin, which this forum uses, is highly expensive but is well worth the while. phpBB is free and is worth taking a look at!
