Good PHP Book or Tutorial for Newbies?

I was about to buy PHP and MYSQL for Dummies but I found a PHP book here at our house. It a Greenspan & Bulger book owned by my older brother. I'm reading it right now. It's very easy to read.

Can you suggest another good book?

I tried to read a few, basically they all sucked. It tells you how to make a shopping cart and all basically but how can I make what I want? It doesn't tell you what each function you used does or anything.

I smiled when I read this, that's exactly how it is.

I don't have an answer for you though agent_orange, I learnt PHP mainly by the study of existing scripts plus the documentation/function reference on php.net.
